MIDNIGHTSUN SAFARI, FJORDS, MOUNTAINS AND BIG ADVENTURE.

Come to Norway and experience a unique 15-day paragliding adventure. You will travel with our Company that has 15 years experience organizing paragliding adventure tours around the world to countries like Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Australia, South Africa and Réunion Island. The adventure starts in our capital Oslo, where you will be picked up at the airport or at the city center, and driven directly to some of the most spectacular mountains in Norway. The first few nights we will stay in Hemsedal, where there are lots of interesting flying sites. From there, we are within driving distance from the famous fjords of the Norwegian West Coast, where we also will go flying.

From Hemsedal we will move on to the Norwegian National Paragliding Centre in Vågå. On the way over, we will hike up to the top of the country’s highest mountain, Galdhøpiggen, and hopefully fly down again.

We will then take a plane up across the Polar Circle, to the coastal town of Bodø. Here, in the land of the midnight Sun, we will visit some of the most beautiful flying sites in the World. We will join the biggest paragliding event in the North, the Midnight Sun Cup, that goes on for two days and two nights from July 9th to 11th. Here you will experience the friendliness and craziness of these people that live in the dark for 3 months every year; in the summer, it looks like they all want to catch up for the daylight time lost during those long winter nights. Here you will hopefully become an official member of the exclusive Midnight Sun Squadron, soaring in broad daylight at midnight - a fantastic experience.

Together with many local pilots we will then take the ferry out to the World Heritage Islands of Lofoten, surely one of the most beautiful places in the world. Here we can paraglide almost everywhere, as the mountains are mainly covered in lush grass, and you can fly around the clock! We then move on to the even more spectacular islands of Vesterålen, where we will explore some unique flying sites, before we take the plane back to Oslo to conclude this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

In case of adverse weather conditions, all locations offer alternative activities such as beautiful ferry mini-cruises in the fjords, the most spectacular train ride in the world (according to the authoritative Train Magazine), river trout snorkeling, high-powered RIB safari, whale watching, via ferrata mountain hikes, wave surfing and lots of other exciting stuff. Extra activities are optional and are not included in the price.

Who can go: You will at all times be escorted by a professional paragliding instructor that has the necessary local knowledge to keep you safe and in the air. The chosen flying sites are suitable for all levels from inexperienced to advanced pilot. The tour is limited to a maximum of 15 participants + instructors.

The accommodation will mostly be of basic standard in double bed rooms. In Hemsedal we will stay at a huge club-house, in Vågå in dormitories at the National paragliding-center. In Bodø we stay in a hotel and in Lofoten and Vesterålen we rent cottages.

The tour starts July 3rd and ends July 18th, 2010.
The price of Euro 2,390.- includes all transport for the tour including domestic airplane fares, all accommodation, breakfast and your own homemade lunch pack, and guiding by our professional paragliding instructor. You will have to bring your own paragliding equipment, warm clothes, a sleeping bag, pocket money and money for evening meals and optional activities.
